Rapid Nondestructive Postharvest Potato Freshness and Cultivar Discrimination Assessment

چکیده

Background: Quality and safety of potato is both cultivar postharvest management dependent. The precise assessment freshness are complex tasks requiring time-consuming, expensive, destructive techniques. Method: Potatoes from three commercial cultivars were stored for 5 months at °C. Color chlorophyll fluorescence recorded, Red-Green-Blue (R-G-B), Red-Green-Near infrared (R-G-NIR) Red-Blue-Near (R-B-NIR) digital images, as well hyperspectral images acquired on the external periderm tuber in inner flesh part. Partial least square regression (PLSR) discriminant analysis, combined with feature selection techniques implemented, order to assess classify them into respective genotypes. Results: PLSR analysis visible/near (Vis/NIR) spectra reflectance most reliably predicted freshness, a cross-validated coefficient equal 0.981 0.947, determined by or internal measurements, respectively. Variance inflation factor, variable importance scores, genetic algorithms identified specific wavelength regions that mostly affected accuracy model terms strongest lowest collinearity root mean cross validation error. Conclusions: Vis/NIR data skin tubers may be used storage life, discrimination process.

Discrimination and Prediction of Pork Freshness by E-nose

An electronic nose (e-nose) was used to establish a freshness evaluation model for pork. A pre-experiment was performed to acquire optimum parameters (10 g sample mass with 5 min headspace-generation time in 500 mL vial) for later e-nose detection of pork. Responding signals of the enose were extracted and analyzed. Linear Discriminant Analysis (LDA) results showed that the e-nose could classif...

Effect of bio-fertilization on yield of potato cultivar marfona

In order to investigate the effect of different levels of biological fertilizers on potato performance (cv. Marfona), an experiment was carried out as strip plot based on RCB design with 3 replications in 2011 at Isfahan. Treatments included Nitrocara at 4 levels (0: control, 220, 330 and 440 ml.ha-1) as a first factor and Nitroxin+ Phosphate at 4 levels (0+0: control, 20+100, 30+150...

Insertion and Characterization of the cry1Ia1 Gene in the Potato Cultivar Spunta for Resistance to Potato Tuber Moth

Potato tuber moth (Phthorimaea operculella) is a serious pest of potatoes in tropical and subtropical regions of the world, including South Africa. The cry1Ia1 gene (from Bacillus thuringiensis) under the control of the 35S cauliflower mosaic virus promoter was transformed into the potato (Solanum tuberosum) cultivar Spunta to develop a cultivar with resistance to potato tuber moth for release ...
